Unless your kids are enrolled at camp or you’re traveling through some incredible places, summer is a very intimidating time for parents.  The ever-growing conundrum of how to ensure that they’re active, entertained and their brain is stimulated for the long two month break is a relatable problem for anyone with children. The people at Education.com have created useful tools for those long summer days when we as parents are at a crossroads between letting them watch tv all day or taking them out to keep them busy.

Birthday Parties for Different Budgets

Hey y’all! Apologies for being MIA the last little while as I’ve been busy working on some fun and exciting projects.  I’ve also been reflecting on which direction I would like to take the blog.  As we have just passed on our 1 year anniversary a couple of months ago(yay), I’d like to ensure the content that I publish is not only informational, but also interesting.  I’ll be posting everything that I come across that excites me and only things that I know I would want to buy, experience and recommend.  As such, I thought a birthday party post was vital. These birthday parties (for children!) can easily turn into lavish events. We want to give them the best of everything, but most of the time the kids don’t even notice a difference between a play area or life-sized castles and pizza or catered gourmet meals.

Our Favorite Blanket (and Swaddle) Ever!

Aden + Anais is synonymous with baby swaddles and blankets. I remember when I bought my first A+A items.  I was 5 months pregnant with Sienna and decided to fly over and visit a friend in San Diego.  I happened to walk into a baby store and  inevitably stepped out with a Mamaroo rocker, a Bugaboo stroller, and about 10 silicon baby bottles. As a first time parent, I could have sworn to myself that I was forgetting something so I walked back into the store for a second round and stumbled upon the Aden + Anais section.   I proceeded to purchase 20 swaddles, 15 bibs, 5 wash cloths and a couple of blankets. I could not resist the soft muslin material and adorable patterns. I didn’t really think about how I would get everything back to Dubai, but Mama needed those essentials.  And thus, my love for Aden + Anais began.

The Happiest Happy Box

People that know me well, know that I’m sort of  “hippy/granola” when it comes to my children.  Their diets are 75% (25% unavoidable birthday party junk and the occasional pizza) organic, unprocessed and sugar-free.  They don’t get much in terms of electronics other than 20 mins on their iPad. I prefer books to tv and outdoor play to a mall. So when I found out that there was a “toy” that would serve as both a learning activity and entertainment, I was ecstatic!

Best Place to Buy Party Supplies in Dubai – Party Camel!

While planning Sienna’s cupcake decorating 4th birthday party, I decided to go to Etsy for some unique party favors and decor.  I honestly hit the jackpot, but every single item I found was located in the States.  Lucky for me, I do have a Shop and Ship PO Box in the States and I was able to buy all of the goody bags and fillers via different stores on Etsy.  I even scored some cute decoration for the party. Five Things You Wish You Could Tell Your Toddlers

1: “You’re not that bright”  What makes you think it’s okay to pick up a nasty, half-eaten Cheeto in the middle of a book store in one of the busiest malls in Dubai?  How did you even find that Cheeto? It was in the corner of the cookbook section.  What compelled you to put it in your mouth? Did it look delicious? With the various rows filled with Children’s books, you decided to seek out the cookbook section hoping to dig up a Cheeto? And that’s just a tiny example! Between falling copious times a day and blindly picking up objects and tasting them like they’re chocolate laced morsels of heaven, do I need to have a third “insurance” baby just in case?

Our Incredible Day at Modesh World

Like most parents bearing the heat while trying to entertain our kids this Dubai summer, we are constantly on the hunt for fun and energetic things for our children to do. Culinary Boutique Cooking School

A friend of mine recently suggested that a few of us take a cooking class together at Culinary Boutique in Jumeirah 1.  The subject of the class was Nutritious and Delicious Sweet Treats.  Being a vegetarian and a health nut, this was the PERFECT class for me.  I immediately went online and booked myself in for this 3 hour cooking lesson. Their online booking process was quick and easy and within 5 minutes I was registered.
